A member of the polyolefin family of polymers, polyethylene is one of the most widely-used plastics in the world. A common type is high-molecular weight polyethylene (HMW-PE).
In less demanding applications with respect to wear and impact resistance, PE 500 may present an economical alternative to the TIVAR® grades of ultra-high molecular weight PE. PE 500 is a versatile polyethylene grade used mainly in the food industry (meat and fish processing), but is also employed in all kinds of mechanical, chemical and electrical applications. PE 500 has high impact strength, excellent chemical resistance, very low water absorption as well as good electrical insulation.
